I passed the Microsoft MCTS 70-448 (SQL Server 2008 BI) exam!

I passed the Microsoft SQL Server 2008: Business Intelligence Implementation & Maintenance (70-448) exam this morning.

I passed this test on SQL Server 2005 back in 2010, and was expecting a lot of overlap in content but I’m suprised how much more difficult it was. I commend the MS certification exam committee for continually making these tests more challenging.

To prepare for this exam I read through the Microsoft Training Kit published by MSPress along with spending a lot of time focusing on Data Mining. This topic was by far my weakest in area of knowledge in the 2005 test, and I’ve made extra efforts to improve my understanding of data mining in SQL Server 2008, the DMX query language, and data mining topics in general.

Overall, this was a challenging test and I look forward to taking the MCITP 2008 test in April.
